Glass Shear Blades
Glass Shear Blades – Glass Feeder Machine Spare Parts
Product Overview
Glass shear blades (also known as glass machine blades, glass cutter blades) are essential spare parts for glass feeder machines. They are used to cut molten glass gobs (liquid glass streams) to form glass products such as glassware, bottles, and containers. These blades deliver a clean, precise cut of the high-temperature glass gob, ensuring consistent weight and shape for the forming process.
Our glass shear blades are available in single-cut, double-cut, four-cut, five-cut configurations, as well as curved-edge and V-shaped cutting edge designs. We also offer large single-cut and small single-cut blades to suit different gob sizes and feeder requirements.
Manufactured from high-performance W6Mo5Cr4V2 (M2 high-speed steel) – a tungsten-molybdenum-vanadium-chromium alloy steel – these blades provide excellent red hardness, wear resistance, and long service life even under continuous high-temperature operation. They are available in all-steel (solid high-speed steel) and tipped (hardfaced/welded carbide edge) versions to meet varying durability and cost requirements.
Our glass shear blades are known for reliable quality, complete specifications, easy installation, red-hard cutting edges, long service life, and competitive pricing. They are indispensable spare parts for the glass industry and are widely used on glass feeder machines.
We maintain stock items that can be shipped the same day.

Features & Benefits
High-performance material – Fine grain size and high vanadium content provide superior red hardness and wear resistance.
No twisting, high elasticity – Maintains shape and performance even at elevated temperatures.
Stain-free & corrosion-resistant – Compatible with all bio-lubricants, even those with high water content.
No tension adjustment required – During blade service life, no re-tensioning is needed.
Precision ground – All blades are precision ground around the top cutting edge; each pair is checked for center height and accuracy.
Uniform fixing positions – Fully compatible with international standard shear blade holders, especially Nos. 1–6.
Dimensions & Matching Pairs
All fixing positions are uniform and interchangeable with standard blade holders. Each shear blade is manufactured from high-speed alloy steel and precision ground on four sides around the top cutting edge. Every blade is inspected for center height and accuracy, and supplied in matching pairs.
Selection Guide
Choose the appropriate shear blade based on:
Glass gob weight and volume
Glass viscosity (light or heavy gob)
Feeder speed and operating conditions
Installation & Operating Instructions
To ensure sharpness, long life, and proper cutting quality, please follow these instructions carefully:
Before use – Wipe off the anti-rust silver powder to ensure blade sharpness.
Installation – The cutting edges must be evenly stressed. Adjust the gap between the two blades to 0.01–0.03 mm and the overlap (offset) to 1.3–3 mm.
Spray cooling – Spray must be atomized (mist), not large droplets. Cooling water volume should be proportional to cutting speed. Water temperature: 15–20°C. Do not allow large water drops to fall onto the blades.
Spray timing – Spray should start after the blades cut and return to the original position. Do not delay spraying until the cutting moment.
Cutting alignment – When the blades close, they must be centered exactly under the feeder orifice (spout). Misalignment will affect product quality or burn out the blades. Never allow glass gobs or glass debris to accumulate on the blades.
Storage – Clean and remove any rust, wipe dry, apply oil, wrap properly, and store in a dry place.
